FRIENDSHIP

From the Teachers:
January 16-20, 2017
3’s/4’s Program
On Tuesday we made handprints and mixed our colors with a friend. Thursday we made paper chain friends and named who our friends are, we also made paper chain hearts and told ways that we could be good friends.  These are posted on our bulletin board in the classroom.  We counted how many days we have been in school and we added a star with a new number for each day.

We named words that begin with “Q” for our letter of the week and learned the sign for Qq.  Q words are hard to find but we managed to think of 14 words starting with Q.

Wednesday we did letter recognition with the threes. We did a tracing worksheet and colored the Q's.

The fours learned their third sight word, “the!” They learned "a" and "and" last week. As you read with  them see if they notice those words. On Friday, we all played bingo together. We all were able to fill our Bingo board so we all got stickers.

In our Bible stories we read:
A rich man's question and Jesus enters Jerusalem from our Family Time Bible Story.

Next week we have Lutheran Schools week.  We will be learning about the armor of God and we will make our own armor.  We have some special guests from Thrivent Financial coming on Monday morning. They will be here first thing in the morning to make a craft with your child and share about stewardship and generosity.

2’s Program
This week in the twos room we talked about friendship! We made peace signs by spraying them with water paint, we did a group painting project to make the tree on our bulletin board, each student made a coffee filter heart, friendship bracelets, and dream catchers!

Our kids have also gotten really good at naming the shapes on our calendar board such as pentagon, octagon, trapezoid, and hexagon!  See our video on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LutheranSchoolofLexington/videos/1383081585043612/

Our Bible story for the week was from the Pray and Play Bible – “The Little Lost Sheep.”
